Abdominal Muscles
Get the basics – the Abs
Muscles
When we talk about abdominal muscles we are referring
to the muscles that are located in the belly area. Some people
refer to the abdominal muscles as abs and sick pack. When we
think of beautiful well defined abs the first person that comes
to our minds are body builders. There muscles are so well
defined that if you where a professional you could name each
one of them while looking at them. They achieve that rock hard
body by hard work and dedication. It sure isn’t a body that
they where born with. At one time or another they have probably
seek the advice of a professional trainer, dietician, and
internal medicine physician to reach their goal of a beautiful
body.
"The
Abdominal muscles have been a sign of modern upscale
living, a good and healthy diet and lifestyle and
health."
The importance of strong abdominal muscles is
not always about how they look but what their actions are.
Strong abs are important is because they help you maintain
proper posture and prevent potential lower back injury
with the help of strong back muscles.
Not everyone exercises their abdominal muscles so that they
can have that rock hard six pack but because they want to
protect their lower back as much as possible. There are many
exercises that can help you obtain those beautiful abs but
remember that everyone’s body is genetically different. Not
everyone can achieve that six pack appearance as the body
builders have.
An important factor when working on those beautiful
abdominal muscles is a healthy diet. Just some tips on how to
eat healthy is by starting with eating a few small meals
throughout the day instead of three large meals. This will help
boost metabolism and burn increased calories. Cut that caloric
intake by adding smaller portions to your diet instead of the
monstrous portions that our mothers taught us was healthy and
important. It is also important to eat fewer calories than you
are burning. You can achieve this by eating foods that are high
in fiber. Have a well balanced diet with fifty to sixty percent
of carbohydrates, twenty to thirty percent of protein, and
twenty to thirty percent of fat.
"There are
many exercises that can help you obtain those beautiful
abs but remember that everyone’s body is genetically
different. Not everyone can achieve that six pack
appearance as the body builders have."
Another important tip when dieting sometimes when we
experience those aggravating hunger pangs it is not always our
body yelling for food sometimes it is our body yelling for
water. It is important to replenish our water loss by
increasing the amount of water we consume. When we sweat we
tend to loose a lot of electrolytes. You can replenish those
with energy drinks and supplements. You can also obtain that by
having it in your well balanced diet.
The muscles that make up the abdominal area include the
external oblique muscle, internal oblique muscle, transversus
abdominis, rectus abdominis muscles, and the pyramidalis
muscle. These muscles are well defined by the body builder’s
beautiful body. These muscles are used with almost every
exercise that you do which includes; walking, running, bending,
stretching, squatting, breathing, coughing, and many more. The
abdominal wall is separated into three different walls;
anterior or front walls, posterior or back walls, and the
lateral or side walls.
The abs muscles protect the many abdominal organs
that are vital to human life. Some of those organs are the
liver, kidneys, colon, small intestine, rectum, bladder,
appendix, pancreas, and the spleen. The peritoneum is a
membrane that covers many of the abdominal organs whether it is
completely or partially. Without the abdominal muscles the
entire abdominal area would be exposed and could receive
potential injury and would not have any muscle tone meaning
that they would just sag. Strengthen the abdominal muscles and
you give your body truly a rock hard six pack appearance.
